Boat Crew Advisory Board Recommendation
25 June 2004
1.After extensive discussion, the Boat Crew Advisory Board has recommended and I have approved a change in Boat Crew Currency Maintenance requirements beginning in 2005. It is our belief that all members of the boat crew program need to keep all of their skills "fresh" and current. With this in mind, a D1SR CM task will be required each year - in addition to the normal CM requirements.
2. The task will change every year, thus keeping a broader range of our skills current. The required task will be announced one year in advance so as to allow an opportunity to practice and review.
3. The tasks for 2005 will be:
Crew level - Task BCM-06-04-AUX "Plot a position using latitude & longitude"
Coxswain Level - Task COX-05-10-AUX "Execute a search pattern"
All of this will lead to more capable and safer crew members. Semper Paratus!
